Bettering Ourselves : Financially

Road to minimalism, bettering ourselves, pivot higher

Sister if you are a financial expert, HELP US! Bless your sisters with your goodness. Ya girl is exhausted from trying to figure out how to leave debt in the dust. I finally decided to turn it over to a better financial disciple. I looked back at my YouTube money journey. (See below)

I had no idea I had been trying to figure this out for 7 years. Nothing was working in my favor but I didn't give up. One of first things I did learn about myself was taking the time to think is valuable. I took time to sit on the porch and ponder my paths in life. "If I had any amount of money in the world how would I want my house to look? My morning routine?"

My dream was to be one of those people who planned out their clothes in advance. There would be no need for much mental gymnastics. Every piece in my house would have a home and a routine. The majority of my time would be spent reading and writing. This began my journey towards minimalism.

At my starting point, I was living in a family house with family owned items in it. I began selling clothes on Poshmark left and right. My aunt had dementia for many years at this point and lost weight, never to wear these clothes again but they had an impeccable quality. 7 years later drumroll please.........

I think I have finally made it to my bare essentials. This is the first time I have packed and not been overwhelmed. What do I own the most of? BOOKS! Yippee During that switch, I also switched to mostly 100% cotton everything. I have arrived! Still in debt a little while longer finger crossed but I chose a category I knew I would succeed in first.

The revolution after Marie Kondo's Spark Joy decluttering. I told myself I could only buy it if I absolutely loved it. That helped shift my mindset to actually think about the things I enjoy. This shifted the indulgences previously used for item shopping to consumables, mostly food. We may have to start small to tackle our biggest goals but, that momentum allows you to have the confidence that YOU CAN CHANGE THE TIDE.

You have the strength to do something different today, even if the results come later. Sister listen to your heart. What is the one thing you desire for your future that you can make a small decision towards the life you want. One step at a time you will make it. I looked up and it had been 7 years. What if I chose not to start? Knowing what you truly want helps to save you money in the long run.
