Be disciplined. Avoid the devil. Save lives.

Just because I’m available doesn’t mean I should be serving. Maybe I should be resting, dwelling with Christ reading or spending time with family. yYou don’t have to hold up the world. I thought because it was in front of me. I was meant to take it all as my responsibility because I was capable. As someone once said “we want to give our best yes.”

It’s God time. Are we excited to dive into God’s Word today. We have already discussed knowledge is good, why we need wisdom, and governing self. Today we will get to hear from the greatest protector we will ever have. Let’s pray. Lord, be with us today. Show us all the ways you protect us day by day. We are so grateful for your patience whilewe tread in the wilderness seeking the empty support of this world. Holy Spirit continue to nudge us your way and be safe in the arms o

My brain was overloaded with thoughts on homeschooling. My job is in person but I’ve been working from home almost for a year. I was frustrated with my daughter’s teacher nitpicking her about sloppy handwriting and minor grammatical issues after already being aware of the fact that she has ADHD and is dyslexic. I cannot tell you how many meetings I’ve had at the school since she was in kindergarten.

I didn’t want to be angry with the people God told me I must love. Friends, family, and neighbors alike. I came to terms with the fact I wasn’t important. I wouldn’t be important until I was out of this environment I observed, had suggestions, and plans for how to make things better. The more I was shutdown, the more I decided to just write it down for someone in the future who needed my ideas.

This morning I was thinking of how I was conditioned around eating in a black household. Things started to click for me as to why we struggle so much with weight loss. My grandma was the community baker. I helped her make cakes since I was in elementary school. My job transformed from ingredient gather to dishwasher, then to froster. This wasn’t a cake a week. Kids pay attention to a lot more than we think. Open dialogue is important with your children. There are mountains of information being fed to them on YouTube, at school from kids and adults alike. They will be left to themselves to determine how to adapt, react, or process information. They need you as their guide whether they realize it or not yet.

Thank you for the wisdom you provide. Sometimes we want to run from instruction not knowing that instruction is actually what protects us. God I'm so glad you care about us enough to add these boundaries for our protection.

You have the strength to do something different today, even if the results come later. Sister listen to your heart. What is the one thing you desire for your future that you can make a small decision towards the life you want. One step at a time you will make it.

While we are Christian girlies, we must be aware of what is going on around us. We want this world to be an accepting place, in this community as well. No matter what anyone is struggling with we want to support them in the way you would like to be supported. God moves in His own time when it comes to everyone's sin. Our position is to provide grace and truth when necessary. Truth has done it's job. Now it's time for grace.

Being in God gives us integrity, thirst for God, justice, listening, relationship and being known.

Sometimes we must look in unexpected places to find our healing. Also being true to who we are is a key that unlocks unchartered territory. In order to be true to who we are we first have to feel the freedom to ask God to show you the things that truly make your heart happy.

Let's start this year strong with one of my favorite studies of wisdom. Proverbs, it is always a great place to start when you have nothing planned for the month. There are 31 chapters, one for each day of the month. Easily repeatable. I have read it many times. It still brings light to my life. Let's pray.

Christian community is vital for the Christian faith. Those partners in faith allow us to be held accountable, supported, and learn from each other. True discipleship has changed my life. We need to know our spiritual maturity level in order to improve.
